Greetings Pack 216!
This year's Pinewood Derby will be Saturday, February 7 from 9 AM - 12 PM. The location will be determined soon!
Friday, February 6 from 7 - 8 PM we will have our registration, at St. Paul's Church upstairs, so that will be the deadline to finish your car. At registration your car will be weighed (no more than 5 oz!), measured, and lubricated one last time.

Pinewood derby kits were distributed to den leaders at the December pack meeting. If you have not yet received yours, please contact your den leader.

As a reminder, Pack 216 will be holding our annual winter camping weekend Friday, January 9th to Sunday, January 11th at Camp Ware (239 Jubilee Rd, Peach Bottom, PA 17563). The cost will be $20 per person, which will cover food costs and the use of the facilities for the weekend. We will be sleeping indoors in heated cabins with bunk beds, so it is a great opportunity for those who may not have been camping before or simply prefer to sleep indoors. To attend, please RSVP on the Pack 216 website. This is a family friendly event, so parents and siblings are welcome to attend.

As a reminder, our December pack meeting will be next Saturday, December 13th from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Lower Pine Creek Park (1488 Yellow Springs Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425).  To celebrate the upcoming holidays, we'll be doing a reverse scavenger hunt and cookie exchange.  Please dress warm as we will be outside for the entire event. 

As we discussed at our October Pack Meeting, this month Pack 216 will be organizing a "Scouting for Food" drive to collect much needed food and household items for the Lord's Pantry in Downingtown.  Food insecurity remains a significant issue within our community and becomes more challenging around the holidays. The need is expected to be even greater this year with impacts of the government shutdown impacting many families.
